     John Wilfrid Leonard Vavasour was born on 23 November 1891. He was the son of Oswald Hugh Stanislaus Vavasour and Sarah Anne Smith. He married Joyce Mayer, daughter of George Frederick Mayer, on 25 January 1940. He died on 27 November 1955 at age 64.
