     Madeleine Marie Ethel Petre was born on 16 June 1913. She was the daughter of Rear-Admiral Walter Reginald Glynn Petre and Agnes Marie Cadic. She married Maj.-Gen. Desmond Alexander Bruce Clarke, son of Robert Thomas Clarke, on 15 January 1944. She died on 4 January 2005 at age 91.1
     Her married name became Clarke.

     Maj.-Gen. Desmond Alexander Bruce Clarke is the son of Robert Thomas Clarke. He married Madeleine Marie Ethel Petre, daughter of Rear-Admiral Walter Reginald Glynn Petre and Agnes Marie Cadic, on 15 January 1944.
     Maj.-Gen. Desmond Alexander Bruce Clarke was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.).1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1
