     Sir Charles William Frederick Craufurd, 4th Bt. was born on 28 March 1847.3 He was the son of Rev. Sir George William Craufurd of Kilbirnie, 3rd Bt. and Hon. Hester King.2 He married Hon. Isolda Caroline Vereker, daughter of Standish Prendergast Vereker, 4th Viscount Gort and Hon. Caroline Harriet Gage, on 23 November 1870.1 He died on 24 September 1939 at age 92.3
     Sir Charles William Frederick Craufurd, 4th Bt. succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Craufurd, of Kilbirney, Ayrshire [G.B., 1781] on 24 February 1881.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.3

     Hon. Hester King was the daughter of Peter King, 7th Baron King and Lady Hester Fortescue. She married Rev. Sir George William Craufurd of Kilbirnie, 3rd Bt., son of Sir James Gregan-Craufurd of Kilbirnie, 2nd Bt. and Maria Theresa Gage, on 15 February 1843.1 She died on 18 March 1848 at Pisa, Italy.1
     From 15 February 1843, her married name became Craufurd.
