     Lt.-Col. Thomas Bernard Hackett, V.C. was born on 15 June 1836.1 He was the son of Thomas Hackett and Jane Bernard Shaw.2 He married Josephine Marshall, daughter of Reverend Joseph Marshall, on 9 July 1874.1 He died in 1880, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers.1 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.)1 He lived at Riverstown, County Tipperary, Ireland.1

     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Tipperary.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for King's County.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 5th Northumberland Fusiliers.1 He lived at Riverstown House, Birr, County Tipperary, Ireland.1
