     He was educated at Dover College, Dover, Kent, England.1 He was educated at Wellington Officer Cadet College, India.1 He was with Consolidated Goldfields at South Africa.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 26 Light Cavalry, Indian Army.1 He gained the rank of Major in the South African Army.2 He fought in the Second World War.1

     He was general manager of African Banking Corporation.2 He lived at Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.1
