     Captain Walter Greville Bagot Chester was born on 15 March 1887.1 He was the son of Reverend Algernon Stewart McKenzie Bagot Chester and Emily Mary Dillman Pyne.1 He died on 28 March 1918 at age 31 at Palestine, from wounds received in action.1
     Captain Walter Greville Bagot Chester fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and wounded.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 3rd Gurkha Rifles.1 He was decorated with the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1918.1
