     Sir George John Patrick Dominic Townshend, 7th Marquess Townshend was born on 13 May 1916. He is the son of John James Dudley Stuart Townshend, 6th Marquess Townshend and Gwladys Ethel Gwendolen Eugenie Sutherst. He married, firstly, Elizabeth Pamela Audrey Luby, daughter of Lt.-Col. Thomas Luby, on 2 September 1939. He and Elizabeth Pamela Audrey Luby were divorced in 1960. He married, secondly, Ann Frances Darlow, daughter of Arthur Pellew Darlow, on 22 December 1960.
     Sir George John Patrick Dominic Townshend, 7th Marquess Townshend gained the title of 7th Marquess Townshend.

     Ann Frances Darlow was the daughter of Arthur Pellew Darlow. She married Sir George John Patrick Dominic Townshend, 7th Marquess Townshend, son of John James Dudley Stuart Townshend, 6th Marquess Townshend and Gwladys Ethel Gwendolen Eugenie Sutherst, on 22 December 1960. She died in 1988.
     Her married name became Townshend.
