     Hermione Ponsonby was born on 23 January 1945.1 She was the daughter of Lt.-Cdr. Robert Martin Dominic Ponsonby and Dorothy Edith Jane Lane.1 She married, firstly, J. C. Evans before 1975.2 She married, secondly, Charles George Townshend, 8th Marquess Townshend of Raynham, son of George John Patrick Dominic Townshend, 7th Marquess Townshend of Raynham and Elizabeth Pamela Audrey Luby, on 9 October 1975.1 She died in 1985, in a motor accident.1
     From before 1975, her married name became Evans.2 From 9 October 1975, her married name became Townshend.1

     He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.1
