     John Coffin was born on 19 August 1729 at Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.1 He was the son of William Coffin.1 He married Isabella Child.1 He died on 25 September 1808 at age 79 at Quebec, Canada.1
     He emigrated to Quebec, Canada, arriving on August 1775 on board his schooner, Neptune, as a Royalist.1 He was a distiller, merchant and militia officer.1
