Wilhelm Friedrich Heinrich Prinz von Wied was born on 26 March 1876 at Neuwied, Nordrhein-Westfahlen, Germany.1 He was the son of Wilhelm Adolph Maximilian Karl V Fürst von Wied and Marie von Nassau, Princess of the Netherlands.1 He married Sophie Helene Cecilie Prinzessin von Schönburg-Waldenburg, daughter of Otto Karl Viktor Erbprinz von Schönburg-Waldenburg and Lucie Franziska Euphrosyne Anna Alexandrine Georgine Prinzessin zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, on 30 November 1906 at Waldenburg, Germany.1 He died on 18 April 1945 at age 69 at Predeal, near Sinaia, Romania.1
