     John Loch was born on 8 September 1781.2 He was the son of George Loch and Mary Adam.1 He married Rabina Marion Cullen, daughter of Archibald Cullen.1 He died on 19 February 1868 at age 86 at Bushey Grove, Hertfordshire, England.2
     He was with the marine service of the East India Company.2 He was director of the East India Company between 1821 and 1854.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hythe between 1830 and 1832.2
