     Mary Russell was the daughter of John Russell and Eleanor Robertson.2,1 She married Maj.-Gen. Sir William Nicolson of Carmock, 9th Bt., son of George Nicolson and Catherine Edmonstone, on 5 July 1804.1 She died on 20 February 1853.1
     From 5 July 1804, her married name became Nicolson.1

     Admiral Sir Frederick William Erskine Nicolson of Carnock, 10th Bt. was born on 22 April 1815.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Sir William Nicolson of Carmock, 9th Bt. and Mary Russell.2 He married, firstly, Mary Clementina Marian Loch, daughter of James Loch of Drylaw, on 26 May 1847.1 He married, secondly, Augusta Sarah Cullington, daughter of Robert Cullington, in 1855.1 He married, thirdly, Anne Crosse, daughter of R. Crosse, on 16 August 1867.1 He died on 29 December 1899 at age 84.1
     Admiral Sir Frederick William Erskine Nicolson of Carnock, 10th Bt. succeeded to the title of 10th Baronet Nicolson, of Carnock, co. Stirling [N.S., 1637] on 5 August 1820.1 He gained the rank of Admiral in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1

     Mary Clementina Marian Loch was the daughter of James Loch of Drylaw.2 She married Admiral Sir Frederick William Erskine Nicolson of Carnock, 10th Bt., son of Maj.-Gen. Sir William Nicolson of Carmock, 9th Bt. and Mary Russell, on 26 May 1847.1 She died on 17 July 1851.1
     From 26 May 1847, her married name became Nicolson.1

     Lieutenant Frederick Nicolson was born on 10 June 1848.1 He was the son of Admiral Sir Frederick William Erskine Nicolson of Carnock, 10th Bt. and Mary Clementina Marian Loch.2 He died on 29 March 1879 at age 30 at Kambula, Zululand, killed.1
     Lieutenant Frederick Nicolson gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He fought in the Zulu War in 1879.1
