     Richard Wilkes was born in 1691.1 He was the son of Richard Wilkes and Lucretia Astley.1 He married, secondly, Frances Wrottesley, daughter of Sir John Wrottesley, 4th Bt. and Frances Grey.1 He married, firstly, Rachel Manlove, daughter of Roland Manlove, on 24 June 1725.1 He died in 1760, without issue.1
     He was an antiquary and physician.1
