     Ashe Windham was born on 29 September 1916.1 He is the son of Ashe Windham and Cora Ellen Sowerby Middleton.1 He married Iris Daphne Phipson, daughter of Colonel Edward Selby Phipson, on 8 June 1940.1
     Ashe Windham was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of Assam between 1938 and 1940.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the East Yorkshire Regiment.1 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.).1 He was Intelligence Staff, Control Commission between 1945 and 1948 at Germany.1 He was British Consulate to Stuttgart in 1970.1 He lived in 2003 at 9 College Street, Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, England.1
