     Hon. Mary Schaw Napier was born on 5 August 1756 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2,3 She was the daughter of William Napier, 7th Lord Napier of Merchistoun and Marie Anne Cathcart.1 She married Reverend Andrew Hunter, son of Andrew Hunter and Grissell Maxwell, on 5 April 1779 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2,3 She died on 9 October 1806 at age 50.2
     From 5 April 1779, her married name became Hunter.2
