     Alice Emma Barnston was the daughter of Roger Barnston.2 She married Major Hon. Charles Napier, son of Francis Napier, 8th Lord Napier of Merchistoun and Maria Margaret Clavering, in 1824.1 She died on 16 May 1834.1

     Anna Maria Margaret Helen Hunter was the daughter of Colonel Francis Hunter.2 She married John Warren Napier-Clavering, son of Major Hon. Charles Napier and Alice Emma Barnston, on 30 September 1857.1 She died on 2 February 1900.1
     From 30 September 1857, her married name became Napier. From 8 February 1894, her married name became Napier-Clavering.

Colonel Charles Warren Napier-Clavering1

     Colonel Charles Warren Napier-Clavering was born on 19 August 1858.1 He was the son of John Warren Napier-Clavering and Anna Maria Margaret Helen Hunter.2 He married Margaret Nevile Reid, daughter of Nevile Reid, on 24 October 1899.1 He died on 22 October 1931 at age 73.1
     He fought in the Burma Expedition between 1885 and 1887.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Somerset Light Infantry.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1
