     Hugh Augustus Bagot-Chester was born on 21 April 1871.1 He was the son of Colonel Heneage Charles Bagot-Chester and Madeline Elizabeth Massey.1 He married Margaret Kathleen Julia Oakes, daughter of Colonel Richard E. Oakes, on 13 January 1895.1 He and Margaret Kathleen Julia Oakes were divorced in 1908.1 He married Clotilde Mary Hamilton Browne, daughter of Hon. Arthur Henry Browne and Clotilde Georgina Don-Wauchope, on 15 February 1913.1 He died on 6 January 1938 at age 66.1
     Hugh Augustus Bagot-Chester fought in the Boer War in 1900, where he won a medals and three clasps.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 3rd Royal Lancashire Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Staffordshire Yeomanry.1 He fought in the First World War, where he won three medals.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to 9th Division.1
