     Sir Duncan Edwyn Hay, 10th Bt. was born on 25 September 1882.1 He was the son of Sir John Adam Hay, 9th Bt. and Anne Salisbury Mary Meliora Milliken-Napier.1 He married Lavinia Mary Houston, daughter of Wallace Charles Houston, on 12 December 1905.2 He died in 1965.3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Hay, of Smithfield, co. Peebles [N.S., 1635] on 4 May 1895.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) for Peebles-shire.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Peebles-shire.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion, Royal Scots.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1914 and 1915 in the Royal Navy.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Company of Archers.2
