     Nigel Hughes-Onslow was born on 21 April 1902.1 He was the son of Major Denzil Hughes-Onslow and Marion Oliver.1 He married, firstly, Marjorie Helen Ruth Hatch, daughter of Sir Ernest Frederick George Hatch, 1st Bt. and Constance Blanche Godolphin Osborne, on 7 August 1926.1 He and Marjorie Helen Ruth Hatch were divorced in 1929.1 He married, secondly, Barbara Birdie Coplans, daughter of Michael Coplans, on 21 May 1941.1 He died on 20 October 1974 at age 72.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Scots Guards.1
