     Emily Harriet Whitmore was the daughter of Thomas Charlton Whitmore and Lady Louisa Anne Douglas.1 She married Maj.-Gen. William Tweedie, son of Reverend W. K. Tweedie, on 24 October 1877.2 She died on 16 October 1912, without issue.2
     Her married name became Tweedie.

Maj.-Gen. William Tweedie

     Maj.-Gen. William Tweedie was the son of Reverend W. K. Tweedie.1 He married Emily Harriet Whitmore, daughter of Thomas Charlton Whitmore and Lady Louisa Anne Douglas, on 24 October 1877.2 He died on 20 September 1914.
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Indian Army.2 He lived at Lettrick, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.)2
