     Caroline Theresa Towneley was the daughter of Charles Towneley and Lady Caroline Harriett Molyneux.1 She married Montagu Arthur Bertie, 7th Earl of Abingdon, son of Montagu Bertie, 6th Earl of Abingdon and Elizabeth Lavinia Vernon-Harcourt, on 10 July 1858 at Bavarian Roman Catholic Chapel, Warwick Street, London, England.1 She died on 4 September 1873 at Wytham Abbey, Berkshire, England.1
     From 10 July 1858, her married name became Bertie.
