     Rosemary Elizabeth Gilbey was born on 4 November 1921.1 She is the daughter of Geoffrey Holland Gilbey and Violet Mary Reid.2 She married Simon Francis Carruthers, son of Lt.-Col. Francis John Carruthers and Olive Christian Johnstone-Douglas, on 1 July 1957.1 She died on 2 May 1978 at age 56.1
     From 1 July 1957, her married name became Carruthers.
