     Lt.-Cdr. Sydney Harington Balfour was the son of Colonel Nigel Harington Balfour and Grace Annette Marie Madocks.1 He married Doreen Isabella Mary Grant, daughter of Alexander FitzPatrick Grant, on 7 June 1932.1 He died on 11 January 1941, killed while on active service.1
     Lt.-Cdr. Sydney Harington Balfour gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.1

     Doreen Isabella Mary Grant was the daughter of Alexander FitzPatrick Grant.1 She married Lt.-Cdr. Sydney Harington Balfour, son of Colonel Nigel Harington Balfour and Grace Annette Marie Madocks, on 7 June 1932.1 She died in 1957.1
     From 7 June 1932, her married name became Balfour.1
