     James Arthur Fitzroy Stockdale was born on 16 October 1948.1 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Frank Alleyne Stockdale and Frances Jean Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe.1 He married Mary Jane Gabriel Hazzard, daughter of William Hazzard, in 1974.1
     James Arthur Fitzroy Stockdale was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Southampton University, Southampton, Hampshire, England.1 He graduated from Southampton University with the degree of Bachelor of Law (LL.B.).1 He was admitted to Gray's Inn in 1972 entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He lived in 2003 at Moons Mill, Tinkers Lane, Hadlow Down, Sussex, England.1
