     Lt.-Col. George Wilson was born on 6 November 1782. He was the son of Rt. Hon. John Smyth and Lady Georgiana Fitzroy.1 He married Sarah Wilson, daughter of Daniel Wilson and Sarah Harper, in 1811.1 He died on 3 March 1853 at age 70.1
     Lt.-Col. George Wilson was baptised with the name of George Smyth.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Guards.1 His name was legally changed to George Wilson.1

     Sarah Caroline Ibbotson was the daughter of Henry Ibbotson. She married John Henry Smyth, son of Rt. Hon. John Smyth and Lady Georgiana Fitzroy, on 25 July 1810. She died on 29 May 1811.
     Her married name became Smyth.
