     Sir Ian Frederick Cheney Bolton, 2nd Bt. was born on 29 January 1889.1 He was the son of Sir Edwin Bolton, 1st Bt. and Elinor Elisabeth Graham.1 He died on 12 January 1982 at age 92.3
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.1 He was created 2nd Baronet Bolton, of West Plean, co. Stirling [U.K., 1927] on 7 October 1931.1 He was registered as a Chartered Accountant (C.A.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Stirlingshire in 1939.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1946.1 He was member of British Transport Commission between 1947 and 1959.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Stirlingshire between 1949 and 1964.1 He was president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland in 1955.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1957.1

     Mona Graham Bolton was the daughter of Sir Edwin Bolton, 1st Bt. and Elinor Elisabeth Graham.1 She married Major Malcolm Scott Speir, son of Robert Thomas Napier Speir and Hon. Emily Gifford, on 1 December 1949.1 She died on 3 June 1961, without issue.1
     From 1 December 1949, her married name became Speir.1

     Florence Marjorie Bolton was the daughter of Sir Edwin Bolton, 1st Bt. and Elinor Elisabeth Graham.1 She married Alexander Fleming Campbell, son of Alexander F. Campbell, on 20 July 1916.1 She died on 7 October 1931.1
     From 20 July 1916, her married name became Campbell.1
