Sir George John Armytage, 6th Bt. was born on 26 April 1842 at Kirklees Hall, Yorkshire, England.1 He was the son of Sir George Armytage, 5th Bt. and Eliza Matilda Mary Radcliffe.1 He married, firstly, Ellen Fawkes, daughter of Reverend Ayscough Fawkes and Ellen Martha Story, on 11 May 1871.1 He married, secondly, Mary Georgiana Littledale, daughter of Henry Anthony Littledale and Mary Elizabeth Armytage, on 6 April 1893 at St. Peter's, Cranley Gardens.1 He died on 8 November 1918 at age 76.2
Sir George John Armytage, 6th Bt. was invested as a Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.) in 1869.1 He was chairman of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company.1 He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in Hartshead], co.
