     Vere Harold Esmond Harmsworth, 3rd Viscount Rothermere was born on 27 August 1925.1 He was the son of Esmond Cecil Harmsworth, 2nd Viscount Rothermere and Margaret Hunam Redhead.1 He married, firstly, Patricia Evelyn Beverly Matthews, daughter of John William Matthews, on 21 March 1957.1 He married, secondly, Maiko Joeong-shun Lee in December 1993.1 He died on 1 September 1998 at age 73.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Kent School, Kent, Connecticut, U.S.A.G.1 He was with Anglo-Canadian Paper Mills between 1948 and 1950.1 He was with Associated Newspapers between 1951 and 1992.1 He was chairman of Associated Newspaper Holdings in 1970.1 On 3 May 1971 he launched the new Daily Mail.1 He was awarded the Order of Merit of Italy in 1977.1 He was chairman of Daily Mail and General Trust in 1978.1 He was awarded the Order of the Lion of Finland in 1978.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Harmsworth, of Hemsted, co. Kent [U.K., 1910] on 12 July 1978.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Rothermere, of Hemsted, co. Kent [U.K., 1914] on 12 July 1978.1 He gained the title of 3rd Viscount Rothermere, of Hemsted, co. Kent [U.K., 1919] on 12 July 1978.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Management (F.I. Mgt.)1 He was a Trustee of Reuters.1 He was awarded the Order of the Southern Cross of Brazil in 1993.1 He was awarded the Order of the White Rose of Finland in 1995.1 He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic in 1996 Middle Cross with Star.1

Patricia Evelyn Beverly Matthews1

     Patricia Evelyn Beverly Matthews was the daughter of John William Matthews.2 She married, firstly, Christopher John Brooks, son of Hon. Herbert William Brooks and Hilda Muriel Steel, on 2 June 1951.2 She married, secondly, Vere Harold Esmond Harmsworth, 3rd Viscount Rothermere, son of Esmond Cecil Harmsworth, 2nd Viscount Rothermere and Margaret Hunam Redhead, on 21 March 1957.2 She and Christopher John Brooks were divorced in 1957.1 She died on 12 August 1992.
     Patricia Evelyn Beverly Matthews also went by the nick-name of Bubbles.2 From 2 June 1951, her married name became Brooks. From 21 March 1957, her married name became Harmsworth. After her marriage, Patricia Evelyn Beverly Matthews was styled as Viscountess Rothermere on 12 July 1978.

Mary Travers1

     Mary Travers was the daughter of Henry Travers and Hon. Genet Preston.1 She married, firstly, James Eustace, 3rd Viscount Baltinglass, son of Rowland Eustace, 2nd Viscount Baltinglass and Joan Butler, before 27 July 1568.2 She married, secondly, Sir Gerald Aylmer, 1st Bt., son of Richard Aylmer and Elinor Fleming, in 1587.1,3 She died on 28 November 1610, without issue.1,4 She was buried on 17 December 1610 at Monkstown, County Dublin, IrelandG.1
     From before 27 July 1568, her married name became Eustace.1 After her marriage, Mary Travers was styled as Viscountess Baltinglass on 31 March 1578. From 1587, her married name became Aylmer.1

     She lived at Kyoto, JapanG.1 After her marriage, Maiko Joeong-shun Lee was styled as Viscountess Rothermere in December 1993. From December 1993, her married name became Harmsworth. She lived in 2003 at 39 rue du Sentier, Paris, FranceG.1

     Christopher John Brooks was born on 13 October 1925.2 He was the son of Hon. Herbert William Brooks and Hilda Muriel Steel.2 He married, firstly, Patricia Evelyn Beverly Matthews, daughter of John William Matthews, on 2 June 1951.1 He and Patricia Evelyn Beverly Matthews were divorced in 1957.2 He married, secondly, Gwendoline Helen Evans, daughter of Louis D. Evans, on 24 December 1958.2 He died on 16 December 1991 at age 66 at Lambeth, London, England.2,3
     He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Coldstream Guards.2
