     Francis Temple Grey was born on 10 February 1886.2 He is the son of Colonel Arthur Grey and Florence Intaglio Donlevy.1 He married Eglantine Ellice, daughter of Major Edward Charles Ellice and Margaret Georgiana Thomas, on 17 April 1928.2
     Francis Temple Grey graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.).2 He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He graduated with a Master of Surgery (Ch.M.).2 He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Physicians, London (M.R.C.P.).2 He gained the rank of Surgeon in the service of the Royal Navy.2 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1924 entitled to practice as a barrister.2
