     John Pugh Vaughan-Pryse was born on 16 September 1818.1 He was the son of Pryse Pryse and Jane Cavallier.1 He married, firstly, Mary Ann Philipps, daughter of John Walter Philipps, on 19 November 1844.1 He married, secondly, Decima Dorothea Rice, daughter of Major Walter Rice, on 12 October 1853.1 He married, thirdly, Anna Isabella Giles, daughter of Reverend John Allen Giles, on 12 September 1895.1 He died on 24 October 1903 at age 85.1
     He was given the name of John Pugh Pryse at birth.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Carmarthenshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Carmarthenshire.1 In 1866 his name was legally changed to John Pugh Vaughan-Pryse.1 He lived at Bwichbychan, Cardiganshire, Wales.1
