He married, firstly, Frances Amelia Victoria Sutton on 23 October 1861. He married, secondly, Hon. Nina Violet Americana Sandys, daughter of Arthur Marcus Cecil Sandys, 3rd Baron Sandys and Louisa Blake, on 27 November 1880. He died on 27 November 1883 at age 49.
