     Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Eden was born on 3 July 1808.2 He was the son of Sir Frederick Morton Eden, 2nd Bt. and Anne Smith.1 He married, firstly, Emma Williams, daughter of Sir Robert Williams, 9th Bt. and Anne Lewis, on 17 August 1828. He married, secondly, Fanny Cecilia Greville, daughter of Vice-Admiral Henry Francis Greville, on 30 April 1866. He died on 7 March 1878 at age 69, without issue.2
     V-Adml.2 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).2 In 1859 a Lord Admlty.2
