Bernard Henry Holland was born on 23 December 1856.1 He was the son of Reverend Francis James Holland and Mary Sibylla Lyall.2 He married Florence Helen Duckworth, daughter of Reverend William Arthur Duckworth, on 3 January 1895.1 He died on 25 May 1926 at age 69.
He was Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1 He graduated with a Trin College Cambridge Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was barrister Inner Temple , Alderman LCC 1910–20, served Charity Commn 1884–90, Sec to Duke of Devonshire 1892–94 and Royal Commns: Fin Rels 1894, Transvaal Concessions 1900, Port of London 1901 and S African War 1902, Private Sec to Sec State Coloni in 1882.1 He lived at Harbledown Lodge, Canterbury, Kent, England.
