     Augusta Wilhelmina Louisa Fremantle was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Fremantle and Agnes Lyon.1 She married Lt.-Gen. Julian Hamilton Hall, son of Sir John Hall of Dunglass, 5th Bt. and Julia Walker, on 6 July 1864.1 She died on 1 March 1906.1
     Her married name became Hall.

Maj.-Gen. John Fremantle

     Maj.-Gen. John Fremantle was born on 17 January 1790.1 He was the son of Colonel Stephen Francis William Fremantle and Albinia Jane Jefferyes.1 He married Agnes Lyon, daughter of David Lyon, on 17 January 1829.1 He died before 1864.
     He fought in the Peninsular Wars, as Aide-de-Camp to the Duke of Wellington.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Coldstream Guards.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He gained the rank of Major-General.1

     Sir John Hall of Dunglass, 5th Bt. was born on 16 September 1787.2 He was the son of Sir James Hall of Dunglass, 4th Bt. and Lady Helen Hamilton Douglas.2 He married Julia Walker, daughter of James Walker, on 28 January 1823.2 He died on 2 April 1860 at age 72.2
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Hall, of Dunglass [N.S., 1687] on 23 June 1832.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)2

     Julia Walker was the daughter of James Walker.1 She married Sir John Hall of Dunglass, 5th Bt., son of Sir James Hall of Dunglass, 4th Bt. and Lady Helen Hamilton Douglas, on 28 January 1823.2 She died on 3 October 1874.2
     From 28 January 1823, her married name became Hall.

     Agnes Lyon was the daughter of David Lyon.1 She married Maj.-Gen. John Fremantle, son of Colonel Stephen Francis William Fremantle and Albinia Jane Jefferyes, on 17 January 1829.1 She died on 20 February 1864.1
     Her married name became Fremantle.

     Commnander Charles Maurice Elton Gifford, 5th Baron Gifford of St. Leonard's was born on 4 March 1899.1 He was the son of Hon. Maurice Raymond Gifford and Marguerite Thorold.1 He married Ellice Margaret Allen, daughter of Arthur Wigram Allen, on 5 March 1939.1 He died on 16 April 1961 at age 62.1
     He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of New South Wales between 1930 and 1935.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Gifford of St. Leonard's, co. Devon [U.K., 1824] on 29 January 1937.1 He gained the rank of Commnader in the Royal Navy. He was chairman and managing director of Theatre Tickets and Messengers Ltd.1

     Ellice Margaret Allen was the daughter of Arthur Wigram Allen.1 She married Commnander Charles Maurice Elton Gifford, 5th Baron Gifford of St. Leonard's, son of Hon. Maurice Raymond Gifford and Marguerite Thorold, on 5 March 1939.1 She died in 1990.1
     After her marriage, Ellice Margaret Allen was styled as Baroness Gifford of St. Leonard's on 5 March 1939. From 5 March 1939, her married name became Gifford.
