Major Edric Thomas Kingscote was born on 20 March 1885.1 He was the son of Thomas Arthur Fitzhardinge Kingscote and Hon. Evelyn Mary Gifford.1 He married, firstly, Frances Jane Curle Lamont, daughter of Henry Lamont, on 5 July 1911.1 He and Frances Jane Curle Lamont were divorced in 1924.1 He married, secondly, Violet Margaret Bewicke, daughter of Calverley Bewicke, on 19 July 1924.1
Major Edric Thomas Kingscote was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War, in the 2nd Battalion, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Reigment.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment.1 He held the office of Gentleman Usher in Ordinary to HM King George V between 1919 and 1922.1
