Lt.-Cdr. Peter Goldthorne Sugden was the son of Brig.-Gen. Richard Edgar Sugden. He married Penelope Anne Erskine, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Thomas Wilfred Hargreaves John Erskine, 4th Bt. and Magdalen Janet Anstruther, on 15 October 1941. He died in May 1943, as a result of an accident.
Lt.-Cdr. Peter Goldthorne Sugden gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Navy. He was decorated with the award of Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.).
