     Commander John Russell was born on 10 July 1796.1 He was the son of Lord William Russell and Lady Charlotte Anne Villiers.1 He married Sophia Coussmaker, Baroness de Clifford, daughter of Colonel George Klein Hayward Coussmaker and Hon. Catherine Southwell, on 21 August 1822 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England.2 He died on 27 April 1835 at age 38 at Kirkby Mallory, Leicestershire, England.2
     He gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.1
