     George Herbert Loftus, 6th Marquess of Ely was born on 19 April 1854.¹ He was the son of Rev. Lord Adam Loftus and Margaret Fannin.² He married, firstly, Emily Harriet Vandeleur, daughter of Major Arthur Vandeleur.¹ He married, secondly, Ethel Beatrice Lempriere Gresley, daughter of Nigel John Davies Gresley, on 7 June 1902.¹ He died on 10 April 1935 at age 80.¹
     On 12 May 1896 he was granted the rank of a marquess's younger son.¹ He succeeded to the title of 6th Baron Loftus of Long Loftus, co. York [U.K., 1801] on 18 December 1925.¹ He succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Tottenham [I., 1780] on 18 December 1925.¹ He succeeded to the title of 6th Baron Loftus of Loftus Hall, co. Wexford [I., 1785] on 18 December 1925.¹ He succeeded to the title of 6th Marquess of Ely [I., 1801] on 18 December 1925.¹ He succeeded to the title of 6th Viscount Loftus of Ely [I., 1789] on 18 December 1925.¹ He succeeded to the title of 6th Earl of Ely [I., 1794] on 18 December 1925.¹

     Emily Harriet Vandeleur was the daughter of Major Arthur Vandeleur.² She married George Herbert Loftus, 6th Marquess of Ely, son of Rev. Lord Adam Loftus and Margaret Fannin.¹ She died on 27 November 1886.¹
     Her married name became Loftus.

     
     Major Arthur Vandeleur gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Artillery.¹ He lived at Ralahine, County Clare, Ireland.¹

     Adam John St. George Loftus was born on 30 January 1885.¹ He was the son of George Herbert Loftus, 6th Marquess of Ely and Emily Harriet Vandeleur.² He died on 27 May 1909 at age 24, unmarried.¹
     Adam John St. George Loftus gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.¹

     Lady Anna Mary Kathleen Loftus was born on 6 August 1886.¹ She was the daughter of George Herbert Loftus, 6th Marquess of Ely and Emily Harriet Vandeleur.² She married Thomas Leslie Craven, son of Thomas Craven, on 16 September 1913.¹ She and Thomas Leslie Craven were divorced in 1937.¹ She died on 23 September 1961 at age 75.¹
     Her married name became Craven.

     Thomas Leslie Craven is the son of Thomas Craven.² He married Lady Anna Mary Kathleen Loftus, daughter of George Herbert Loftus, 6th Marquess of Ely and Emily Harriet Vandeleur, on 16 September 1913.¹ He and Lady Anna Mary Kathleen Loftus were divorced in 1937.¹

     
     Thomas Craven held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).¹ He lived at Kriklington Hall, Nottinghamshire, England.¹

     Ethel Beatrice Lempriere Gresley was the daughter of Nigel John Davies Gresley.² She married George Herbert Loftus, 6th Marquess of Ely, son of Rev. Lord Adam Loftus and Margaret Fannin, on 7 June 1902.¹ She died on 23 October 1927.¹
     Her married name became Loftus. As a result of her marriage, Ethel Beatrice Lempriere Gresley was styled as Marchioness of Ely on 18 December 1925.
