     John Blackader was the son of John Blackader.1
     He was a tailor at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 On 10 April 1734 he was served heir to the 1st Baronet Blackader, who he claimed was his grandfather.1 In January 1736 his pedigree was disproved, and on 8 January 1737 he was sentenced to have his ear nailed to the post for perjury.1

     Sir William Blackett, 1st Bt. was born circa 1620.1 He was the son of William Blackett and Isabella Croke.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Kirkley, daughter of Michael Kirkley, on 10 July 1645 at Hamsterley, County Durham, EnglandG.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Cock, daughter of Ralph Cock, after 1674.1 He died on 16 May 1680.1 He was buried at St. Nicholas's Church, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 9 March 1679/80. His will was proven (by probate) in 1680.1
     He held the office of Alderman of Newcastle.1 He held the office of Mayor of Newcastle.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newcastle between December 1673 and 1680.1 He was created 1st Baronet Blackett, of Newcastle, co. Northumberland [England] on 12 December 1673.1 Wotton writes that he "by the product of his mines and colleries acquired a very great fortune."1

     William Blackett was born circa 1588.1 He was the son of Edward Blackett and Jane Kirkhouse.2 He married Isabella Croke, daughter of William Croke.2 He died in 1648.2
     He lived at Hoppyland, County Durham, EnglandG.1
     He also had one other son.2
