     William Bruce was the son of Alexander Bruce of Newton.2 He married Janet Bruce, daughter of Colonel Henry Bruce, 14th of Clackmannan and Jean Bruce.1 He died on 27 January 1801.3
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)2 He lived at Newton, ScotlandG.2

     Lady Sophia van Keppel was the daughter of Arnold Joost van Keppel, 1st Earl of Albemarle and Gertrude de Quirna van der Duyn.1 She married General John Thomas, son of Sir Edmond Thomas, 2nd Bt. and Mary Howe, in 1731.1 She died on 25 May 1773.2
     From 1731, her married name became Thomas.1

     Sir Edmond Thomas, 2nd Bt. was born in 1667.1 He was the son of William Thomas.2 He married Mary Howe, daughter of Rt. Hon. John Grubham Howe and Mary Baskerville, on 28 March 1711.1 He died in 1723.
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Thomas, of Wenvoe, Glamorgan [E., 1694] on 17 January 1702/3.1

Sir Edmond Thomas, 3rd Bt.1

     Sir Edmond Thomas, 3rd Bt. was baptised on 9 April 1712.2 He was the son of Sir Edmond Thomas, 2nd Bt. and Mary Howe.1,3 He married Abigail Webster, daughter of Sir Thomas Webster, 1st Bt., in June 1740.2 He died on 10 October 1767 at age 55.2
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Thomas, of Wenvoe, Glamorgan [E., 1694] in 1723.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wiltshire.2 He was New Tag Wenvoe Castle to Peter Birt in 1765.2

     John Spottiswoode of Spottiswoode was born on 17 June 1780.2 He was the son of John Spottiswoode of Spottiswoode and Margaret Penelope Strahan.2 He married Helen Wauchope, daughter of Andrew Wauchope of Niddrie and Alicia Baird, on 13 September 1809.3 He died in 1866.2
     He lived at Spottiswoode, Berkshire, EnglandG.1
