     Sarah Gurney was baptised on 30 June 1757 at Norwich, Norfolk, EnglandG.2 She was the daughter of Samuel Gurney and Sarah Lawrence.3,2 She married Samuel Hoare, son of Samuel Hoare and Grizell Gurnell, on 15 May 1776.3 She died on 31 January 1783 at age 25.1
     From 15 May 1776, her married name became Hoare.1

     Captain William Grant Douglas was born on 25 February 1824.2 He was the son of Reverend Hon. Charles Sholto Douglas and Hon. Isabella Gore.3,2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Inglis, daughter of William Inglis, on 16 December 1851.2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Frances Vesey, daughter of Thomas Agmondisham Vesey and Jemima Belford Gregg, on 6 June 1867.1 He died on 16 December 1898 at age 74.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1
