     Hon. Walter Courtenay Pepys was born on 27 November 1840.1 He was the son of Charles Christopher Pepys, 1st Earl of Cottenham and Caroline Elizabeth Wingfield.2 He married Amy Harriet Thompson, daughter of Lt.-Col. Charles William Thompson, on 4 August 1874.1 He died on 4 November 1914 at age 73.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 60th Rifles.1 He was a practising barrister.1

     Amy Harriet Thompson was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Charles William Thompson.2 She married Hon. Walter Courtenay Pepys, son of Charles Christopher Pepys, 1st Earl of Cottenham and Caroline Elizabeth Wingfield, on 4 August 1874.1 She died on 7 July 1908.1
     From 4 August 1874, her married name became Pepys.

     Walter Evelyn Pepys was born on 12 April 1885.1 He was the son of Hon. Walter Courtenay Pepys and Amy Harriet Thompson.2 He married Violet Maude Ramsey, daughter of Thomas Carr Ramsey, on 24 September 1932.1 He died on 15 November 1966 at age 81, without issue.1
     He was educated at Malvern College, Malvern, Worcestershire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1907 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was with the Malayan Civil Service between 1908 and 1940.1 He graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1910 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1938.1 He was Liaison Officer to Sarawak and North Borneo between 1940 and 1942.1 In 1942 he became a POW at the surrender of Singapore.1
