     Helena Adelaide Sara Davies-Cooke was the daughter of Bryan George Davies-Cooke and Judith Caroline Halsted Poole.2 She married Lt.-Col. Basil Edwin Philips, son of Captain Edwin William Philips and Fanny Louisa Eyres, on 12 February 1896.1 She died on 19 April 1943.1
     She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Flintshire.1 From 12 February 1896, her married name became Philips. She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1920.1

     Lt.-Col. Basil Edwin Philips was born in 1864 at Lucknow, India.2 He was the son of Captain Edwin William Philips and Fanny Louisa Eyres.2 He married Helena Adelaide Sara Davies-Cooke, daughter of Bryan George Davies-Cooke and Judith Caroline Halsted Poole, on 12 February 1896.1 He died on 10 August 1915, killed in action.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 5th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers.1 He lived at Rhûal, Mold, Flintshire, WalesG.1 He fought in the First World War.1
