     Catherine Bruce was born on 6 March 1875 at Springston, Canterbury, New ZealandG.2 She was the daughter of Murdoch Bruce and Catherine Polson. She married James Lambie, son of John Lambie and Mary Crawford, on 27 April 1898.3 She died on 3 November 1960 at age 85 at Waitoa, Waikato, New ZealandG.3,4 She was buried at Ashburton Public Cemetery, Ashburton, New ZealandG, plot 3189.4
     She was brought up living at Ocean View Farm, Buckleys Road, Seafield, Canterbury, New ZealandG, from 1877 to 1897.2 She was a student at Seafield School, Seafield, Canterbury, New ZealandG, in 1879.2 She was a student at Ashburton High School, Ashburton, New ZealandG.2 From 27 April 1898, her married name became Lambie.3 Catherine lived with her husband at Inverell Farm, Lambies Road at Kyle, Canterbury, New ZealandG, from 27 April 1898 to 1941.2,5 She has an extensive biographical entry in the Prior to her marriage, Catherine taught at the Seafield Church Sunday School and throughout her life she continued her Christian upbringing. She served as President of the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union and was also a member of the Pendarves branch of Country Women's Institute.

     James Lambie was born on 19 January 1869 at New ZealandG.2,3 He was the son of John Lambie and Mary Crawford. He married Catherine Bruce, daughter of Murdoch Bruce and Catherine Polson, on 27 April 1898.2 He died on 31 January 1939 at age 70.2,4 He was buried at Ashburton Public Cemetery, Ashburton, New ZealandG, plot 3189.4
     He lived at Inverell Farm, Lambies Road at Kyle, Canterbury, New ZealandG, from 1894 to 1939.5 He was a farmer from 1924 to 1928 at Inverell Farm, Lambies Road, Kyle, Canterbury, New ZealandG, "Inverell" was a farm of 400 acres. In 1924, James purchased "Fairview" from J Hardwick, a farm of 532 acres, and combined the two properties..5,6 He held the office of Member of the Ashburton County Council before 1939.7
