     Gwyneth Sybil Acland was born on 22 April 1918.1 She was the daughter of Herbert Arthur Dyke Acland and Maud Kathleen Branson.1 She married, firstly, F/Lt. Roderick Stanley Emerson, son of George Emerson, on 6 June 1942.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Sir Henry Christopher Carden, 4th Bt., son of Major Sir Frederick Henry Walter Carden, 3rd Bt. and Winifred Mary Wroughton, on 8 November 1962.1 She died on 19 May 1996 at age 78.1
     Her married name became Emerson. She was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.)1 From 8 November 1962, her married name became Carden.1

     F/Lt. Roderick Stanley Emerson was born circa 1916.2 He was the son of George Emerson.1 He married Gwyneth Sybil Acland, daughter of Herbert Arthur Dyke Acland and Maud Kathleen Branson, on 6 June 1942.1 He died on 21 February 1944, killed in action.1
     F/Lt. Roderick Stanley Emerson usually went by his middle name of Derick.2 He was registered as a Associate Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (A.M.I.C.E.)3 He fought in the Second World War. He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1
