     Herbert William Deedes was born on 27 October 1881.2 He was the son of Colonel Herbert George Deedes and Rose Elinor Barrow.1,2 He married Melesina Gladys Chenevix Trench, daughter of Philip Francis Chenevix Trench and Frances Angel Reeves, on 3 July 1912.1 He died on 2 August 1966 at age 84.1
     Herbert William Deedes usually went by his middle name of William.3 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.4 He sold Sandling in 1897.4 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Battalion, 60th Rifles.4 He fought in the Boer War in 1902.4 He gained the rank of officer in the King's Royal Rifle Corps.1 He was New Tag Saltwood in 1925.4 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)4 He had an elder daughter.4

     Colonel Herbert George Deedes was born on 28 September 1836.2 He was the son of William Deedes and Emily Octavia Taylor.3 He married Rose Elinor Barrow, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Lousada Barrow and Piercy Macdonald, on 5 December 1870.4 He died on 5 May 1891 at age 54.2
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.5 He fought in the Indian Mutiny.5 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 60th Rifles.5 He held the office of Assistatn Under-Secretary for War in 1878.5 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)5 He lived at Sandling Park, Saltwood, Hythe, Kent, EnglandG.4 He lived at Saltwood Castle, Saltwood, Hythe, Kent, EnglandG.4 He also had two daughters.5

     Captain Charles Chenevix Trench was born on 31 October 1856.1 He was the son of Philip Charles Chenevix Trench and Ellen Maria Turner.1 He died on 2 August 1891 at age 34.1
     He was given the name of Charles Trench at birth. In 1873 his name was legally changed to Charles Chenevix Trench.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Bengal Staff Corps.1

     Alfonso II d'Este, Duca di Ferrara was the son of Ercole II d'Este, Duca di Ferrara and Renée de Valois.1,2 He married Barbara Erzherzogin von Österreich, daughter of Ferdinand I von Habsburg, Holy Roman Emperor and Anna Jagellon, in 1565. He married Margherita Gonzaga, daughter of Guglielmo Gonzaga, 3rd Duca di Mantova and Eleonora Erzherzogin von Österreich, on 24 February 1597.3 He died in 1597.1
     He succeeded as the Duca di Ferrara in 1559.1
