     Edward Frederick Eliott was born on 6 June 1834.¹ He was the son of Sir Daniel Eliott and Georgina Russell.² He married Rykie Sophia Cloete, daughter of P. L. Cloete, on 7 August 1856.¹ He died on 27 October 1873 at age 39.¹
