     Captain Robert Philip Henry Elwes was born on 13 October 1917.2 He was the son of Captain Robert Hamond Arthur Elwes and Esterel Edith Philippa Louise Tillard.1 He married, firstly, Vivien Elizabeth Mary Smith, daughter of Everard Reginald Martin Smith and Violet Mary Hambro, on 27 April 1940.2 He and Vivien Elizabeth Mary Smith were divorced in 1950.2 He married, secondly, Jean Evelyn Hope Johnstone, daughter of Evelyn Wentworth Hope Johnstone and Marie Eleanor Domvile, on 4 April 1950.1 He died on 29 March 1976 at age 58 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1,3

     Alexander William Robert Bosville was born illegitimately, but later found to be legitimate under Scottish law on 12 September 1800.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Godfrey Bosville Macdonald, 3rd Baron Macdonald of Slate and Louisa Maria la Coast.1 He married Matilda Eliza Moffat Bayard, daughter of Colonel John Bayard and Martha P. Moffatt, on 10 July 1823.1 He died on 22 September 1847 at age 47.1
     He was given the name of Alexander William Robert Macdonald at birth.2 He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Macdonald, of Sleat, in the Isle of Skye, co. Inverness [N.S., 1625] on 13 October 1832, de jure, but not recognized as such during his lifetime, becuase he was born before the marriage of his parents (later held to be legitimate under Scottish law.)2 On 26 December 1832 his name was legally changed to Alexander William Robert Bosville by Royal Licence.3 On 22 July 1847 by Act of Parliament he inherited his father's Bosville estates in Yorkshire.4
