     He gained the rank of in the 1st Florida Volunteer Infantry.1 He fought in the Spanish-American War between 1898 and 1899.1

Averil Vivian.1,2 She married Patrick Charles Archibald Mansel Lewis, son of Sir David Courtenay Mansel Lewis and Lady Mary Rosemary Marie-Gabrielle Montagu-Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie, on 23 March 1985.1
     She was educated at Wycombe Abbey School, England.2 She graduated from Durham University, Durham, County Durham, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 From 23 March 1985, her married name became Mansel Lewis. She lived in 2003 at Capel Isaf, Manordeilo, Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, Wales.2

     Hon. Violet Averil Margaret Vivian was born on 3 December 1871.1 She was the daughter of Colonel Henry Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Swansea of Singleton and Averil Beaumont.1 She married Brig.-Gen. Douglas Douglas of Mains on 11 October 1899.1 She died on 30 March 1943 at age 71.1
     Her married name became Campbell. She lived at Sketty Hall, Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales.1 From 23 June 1925, her married name became Douglas.

     Brig.-Gen. Douglas Douglas of Mains married Hon. Violet Averil Margaret Vivian, daughter of Colonel Henry Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Swansea of Singleton and Averil Beaumont, on 11 October 1899.1 He died on 17 June 1927.
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the Seaforth Highlanders.1 He was given the name of Douglas Campbell at birth.1 On 23 June 1925 his name was legally changed to Douglas Douglas of Mains on inheriting estate from his uncle, Archibald Campbell Douglas of Mains.1

     Charles George Vivian Tryon, 2nd Baron Tryon was born on 24 May 1906.2 He was the son of George Clement Tryon, 1st Baron Tryon and Hon. Averil Vivian.2 He married Etheldreda Josephine Burrell, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Merrik Raymond Burrell, 7th Bt. and Coralie Adelaide Mervyn Porter, on 3 August 1939.2 He died on 9 November 1976 at age 70.3
