     Andrew Hamilton Digby Lighton was born on 28 April 1850 at Ellastone, Staffordshire, England.^1,2 He was the son of Reverend Sir Christopher Robert Lighton, 6th Bt. and Mary Anne Elizabeth Ram.³ He married Anna Elizabeth van Zuylen van Nijevelt, daughter of Julius Philip Jacob Adriaan Graaf van Zuylen van Nijevelt and Catherine Harriet Nixon, on 11 February 1897 at The Hague, The Netherlands.^1,2 He died on 1 April 1931 at age 80 at Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, England.^1,2
     He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Navy.¹
